About the OCA Student and New Graduate Advisory Council
The OCA Student and New Graduate Advisory Council is a dynamic group of chiropractic students and new graduates or early career chiropractors (practising six years or less) who meet as a group to discuss topics that matter most to them at the current stage of their careers.
The council’s purpose is to:
- Empower chiropractic students and early career chiropractors to give meaningful input association initiatives that affect them
- Help us improve and develop better supports for students and early career chiropractors
- Give students and early career chiropractors the opportunity to learn about and become engaged in the work of the OCA, so they can help shape the future of the profession
- Help students and early career chiropractors expand their networks
Interested in this Leadership Opportunity?
We think students and new graduates or early career chiropractors have the best voices to inform programs and services that will help them achieve their career goals. If you’re a student or early career chiropractor, we invite you to apply to be a part of this council, to have your voice heard and help shape the future of chiropractic care.
The council is a platform for you to share your ideas and give advice on how to improve supports for students and early career chiropractors entering the profession. If you don’t have any ideas to share — no worries! It’s also a place to learn and get involved in OCA initiatives that affect you, as well as to expand your networks.

The OCA is looking for seven members to join this council:
- Three chiropractic students from any year of study – from year one to year four — from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC)
- Two chiropractic students studying outside Ontario but who plan to practise in Ontario
- Two OCA members in good standing who have been practicing for less than six years since graduation
The OCA Student and New Graduate Advisory Council is chaired by one OCA senior management team member and another staff person serves as Committee Secretary.
Time Commitment
We are looking for you to commit to giving two years of service on this important council.
Meeting Format
The OCA Student and New Graduate Advisory Council will meet in person once and virtually up to three times per year.
