We collaborate with various organizations to support chiropractic and other regulated health care for Ontarians. Since 2022, we’ve participated in the CEO Partnership Roundtable, alongside all other provincial associations, Canadian Chiropractic Association (CCA), and Canadian Chiropractic Protective Association (CCPA). Here are examples of organizations OCA works with:
Ontario Organizations:
- College of Chiropractors of Ontario (CCO) – regulates chiropractors in Ontario to ensure every patient receives safe and quality care. It was established by the Regulated Health Professions Act and the Chiropractic Act to serve as the legislated regulatory body for chiropractors in Ontario. Every chiropractor practising in Ontario must be a registered member of CCO.
- Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) is an independent, self-funded, regulatory agency that operates arms length from the government. It regulates financial service providers, such as insurance companies and pension plan administrators. Its mandate is to protect consumers and pension plan beneficiaries in the province of Ontario.
- Ministry of Health – The provincial government ministry that oversees health care in Ontario
- Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) of Ontario – An independent trust agency that administers compensation and no-fault insurance for Ontario workplaces.
National Organizations/Government Departments:
- Canadian Chiropractic Association (CCA) – The CCA serves more than 7,800 licensed Doctors of Chiropractic (DCs) and 10 provincial chiropractic associations, including OCA,as the national voice for the chiropractic profession in Canada.
- Canadian Chiropractic Examining Board (CCEB) – The CCEB conducts clinical competency exams for individuals seeking licensure to practice chiropractic in Canada.
- Canadian Chiropractic Guideline Initiative (CCGI) – The CCGI’s mission is to develop evidence-based clinical practice Guidelines and best practice recommendations, and facilitate their dissemination and implementation within the chiropractic profession.
- Canadian Chiropractic Protective Association (CCPA) – CCPA provides liability protection for Canadian chiropractors and all OCA members attain CCPA coverage as part of their membership.
- Canadian Chiropractic Research Foundation (CCRF) – The CCRF funds chiropractic research to discover the best, evidence-informed treatments for patients living with pain and disability caused by spinal dysfunction and disease.
- Canadian Federation of Chiropractic Regulatory and Educational Accrediting Boards – A national federation of regulators, educational institutions and specialty colleges whose purpose is to promote effective communication and cooperation among its members relating to education, accreditation and regulation of chiropractic in the public interest that enhances the work of the members collectively and individually.
- First Nations (Indigenous Services Canada) – This department works with First Nations, Inuit, other federal departments and provincial and territorial partners to support healthy First Nations and Inuit individuals, families and communities.

- Journal of the Canadian Chiropractic Association (JCCA) – The JCCA – ISSN 0008-3194 (Print) and ISSN 1715-6181 (Online) is CCA’s official, peer reviewed, quarterly research publication.
- Public Health Agency of Canada – In partnership with others, this agency focuses on preventing disease and injuries, promoting good physical and mental health, and providing information to support informed decision making. It values scientific excellence and provides national leadership in response to public health threats.

- Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) – CMCC is an evidence-based leader in chiropractic education and research with collaborative relationships with universities, hospitals and other chiropractic institutions worldwide.
- Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (Quebec-based French-speaking program) – Le doctorat en chiropratique de l’Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières est le seul programme à l’intérieur du système universitaire québécois qui donne ouverture à la profession chiropratique.
