Supporting individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury: Concussion, mild or moderate to severe injury
A Joint OCA|UHN Webinar
Every year, approximately 170,000 Ontarians sustain a concussion/mild traumatic brain injury (TBI) and about 20% of them will experience persisting symptoms that require ongoing care. But access to high-quality acute care and rehabilitation services for TBI varies across the province.
Chiropractors can play a lead role in supporting individuals with mild to moderate TBI, helping to manage their symptoms, address Musculoskeletal conditions and other comorbidities, and optimize function.
This joint webinar with UHN provides an overview of the current gaps that exist in TBI care in Ontario and introduces new clinical best practice tools for treating individuals with TBI, including the Neurotrauma Care Pathway. Case studies discussed will demonstrate how chiropractors can apply these tools to address TBI within their scope of practice.
