OCA Town Hall Q&A Summary June 2018 A special Town Hall took place so members could talk about how to pursue the surging number of public health care system opportunities. To share what’s going on in your community, conversations you are having with health practitioners and your local LHIN. The OCA wanted to learn more about the kind of support you need to overcome barriers and maximize your role in the public health care system. The Town Hall was an open discussion about current opportunities for involvement as well as a conversation about our advocacy efforts.
The landscape for chiropractic care is evolving as inroads are made to further integrate chiropractic into the broader health care system. For instance, we have seen chiropractors more involved in Local Health Integration Networks (LHINs) across Ontario and in interprofessional teams. Since 2014, we’ve seen low back pain pilots established in seven communities. More recently, Rapid Access Clinics have received millions of dollars in funding from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and are currently being rolled out in each LHIN across the province.
With new MSK pathways emerging and expanding, now is the time to mobilize and shape the future of chiropractic care. By getting involved, you can contribute to the collective network of chiropractors that advocate for the profession and the integration of chiropractic. Through involvement on the ground level, you can influence and make change.
Complimentary member event/2 CE hours.
