SUMMARY:Concepts & Practices in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy: An Introductory Workshop for Chiropractors
DESCRIPTION:Many believe that there is “no health without mental health”\, and chiropractors see each day how psychological barriers can restrict progress in care. To empower chiropractors to recognize these barriers and refer patients for additional help as needed\, the OCA has partnered with an authority on mental health care – CAMH. In collaboration with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH)\, we will host a two-day workshop on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and strategies to help patients dealing with potential psychological difficulties. The workshop is facilitated by CAMH psychologist\, Dr. Vivien Lee\, in the Work\, Stress and Health program. A letter of Training Completion for participants will be available from CAMH. \n\nLearning Objectives\n1. Overview of the CBT model.\n2. Understanding how the CBT model relates to chronic pain\, health behaviours\, and mental health issues.\n3. How and when to refer for CBT treatment.\n4.
