DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, March 7 (10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. EST) – Sunday\, March 8 (10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. EST)\, 2026\nBrief Description:\nThe purpose of GLA:D Back is to help patients better manage persistent and/or recurrent low back pain themselves through a well-described and structured treatment program. The patient program includes structured patient education sessions and supervised exercise sessions over 7 weeks\, a pre- and post-program assessment\, and data registration. These components are recommended as first-line interventions in several international guidelines based on expert reviews of hundreds of randomized controlled trials (see Research and Annual Reports for more). Data from the program is entered in a secure clinical registry so that together\, we create new knowledge about chronic low back pain and GLA:D Back can be continuously improved. SUMMARY:GLA:D™ Canada Remote Certification Course
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, February 21 (10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) – Sunday\, February 22 (10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.)\, 2026\nBrief Description:\nGLA:D™ Canada is an 8-week education and exercise program for individuals with symptoms of or diagnosed with knee and/or hip osteoarthritis (OA). Developed in Denmark\, the program has shown to reduce pain symptom progression by 27%\, lower use of joint-related painkillers\, reduce sick leave\, and improve physical activity at 1-year after start of the program. The program consists of 3 parts: i) 2-3 education sessions\, ii) 12 exercise sessions involving tailored neuromuscular exercises\, and iii) a national database for quality monitoring (clinics have access to reports on its own participants’ data). \nGLA:DTM Canada Leadership team and certified GLA:D™ Canada trainers (a researcher in the field of osteoarthritis and a highly experienced practicing physiotherapist) will be instructing this 1.5-day course. The course is designed to prepare you to deliver the GLA:D™ education and exercise program to your clients. Day 1 includes lectures and practical training on delivering the neuromuscular exercises.
