SUMMARY:Concepts and Practices in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy: An introduction for Chiropractic Professionals Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Many believe that there is “no health without mental health”. Chiropractors see how psychological barriers can restrict progress in care. To empower chiropractors to recognize and help bring down those barriers\, the OCA has partnered with an authority on mental health care – CAMH. In collaboration with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH)\, we will host a two-day Cognitive Behaviour Therapy workshop. Learn how this technique can be a powerful complement to chiropractic. The workshop is facilitated by CAMH psychologist\, Dr. Hester Dunlap\, Clinic Head in the Work\, Stress and Health program. A letter of Training Completion for participants will be available from CAMH. This event qualifies for 14 CE hours.\n \nLearning Objectives\n1. Overview of the CBT model\n2. Dr. Dunlap provides cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for depression and anxiety related difficulties\, and with adults who have experienced workplace accidents\, many of whom also have chronic pain. She has a strong interest in CBT training and provides supervision to residents\, interns\, and students.
