Regional Societies
Society membership advantages:
Access to meetings of the society, which may feature speakers, resource sharing and networking
Networking helps you keep up-to-date and discuss items pertinent to chiropractic, such as legislation, insurance coverage, and chiropractic news items, research
Society members help promote inter-professional co-operation by inviting guest speakers from other health care disciplines, and supplying speakers in return to their meetings
Contact with OCA representatives, providing members with the opportunity to state their views, ask questions, and probe association issues in detail
Access to province-wide awareness programs with an opportunity for enhanced local participation, fully or partially funded by the OCA (for example, the Co-operative Advertising Program)
Access to a listing feature on society website (if available)
Access to the society’s telephone referral listing service (if available)
The invisible benefits of society membership:
Fellowship — getting to know other chiropractors in your community both at business meetings and social events, such as a Christmas social or golf tournament
Opportunity to get involved at the local level to contribute to the profession at large
Opportunity to develop leadership skills by volunteering on the society executive or other committees — this may also lead to future opportunities for involvement at the provincial or national level
